Give administrators the ability to configure which fields are required or displayed on the Material Consumption mobile transaction screen — specifically, add the option to remove or hide Quantity, Lot, and Location as mandatory (or visible) fields.
Currently, the Material Consumption screen forces entry of Quantity, Lot, and Location on every consumption transaction, regardless of the manufacturing scenario. For sites where components are not lot-tracked, are consumed from a single fixed location, or are backflushed automatically through the routing/BOM, these fields add unnecessary steps and slow down operators on the shop floor. This is especially impactful in high-volume, fast-cycle production environments where every extra tap on a handheld device compounds across thousands of transactions per shift.
Business Justification:
Reduces transaction time and operator error on the shop floor for sites/items that don't require lot or location-level tracking at consumption
Improves mobile automation adoption and user experience by matching screen complexity to actual business need
Supports flexible configuration across different plants/product lines within the same instance (e.g., lot-tracked ingredients vs. non-tracked packaging components)
Aligns Mobile Automation with the configurability already available in classic Sage X3 transaction entry, where field visibility can be tailored by transaction/site
Requested Enhancement:
Add a configuration setting (at the transaction, site, or product-category level) in Mobile Automation admin setup that allows Quantity, Lot, and Location to be independently marked as optional, hidden, or defaulted — rather than being hardcoded as mandatory fields on the Material Consumption screen.
