Reason involved was, reasonably until now, the lack of support for such elements within CrystalReport. However, this no longer make sense nowadays. Indeed, at last
"Customer Club" Summit, was announced the support for HTML mail sending. In that context, lack of support for tables drastically reduce the interest of the latter. Moreover, there were also announcement plan for supporting other pluggable technologies instead of being bound by CrystalReport only. Full HTML support became de facto a must as other tools doesn't suffer such limitations.
