Having an obsolete status allows team to be able to distinguish between products that are in the process of build out (In-Development) and what is no longer in production. Maintaining the BOM in the system will not interfere with internal or external reporting set-ups regarding historical performance. Additionally the product and BOM may be reactivated at anytime without an additional buildout needed.
