After clicking 'deliverable' on a pick ticket and the clicking 'delivery', if the sales order has become locked, a 'change in progress' message is displayed and then 'shipment not created nothing to process'. The screen then leaves it on an old shipment instead of rolling back to the picking ticket.
In that circumstance, when it is an extremely busy despatch department, those messages can be lost - eg - asking the user to come out - clicking ok - then clicking print - the old shipment is printed by mistake. This has happened on many occasions with items getting as far as being picked for shipment before the error was spotted. I understand that this mirrors functionality elsewhere in the system but it seems unhelpful and would be better to take the user back to their starting point?
